“God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.” ~ Augustine
At some point in their life, every human being will look to the stars and wonder who created all of this. They will also wonder why God made them and what this Creator thinks of them? When we compare ourselves to others, we lose, and when we compare our flawed life to the Creator, we lose unless we learn to see ourselves the way God sees every one of us. God created us, and therefore desires a relationship with each of us, regardless of where we are in life. The Creator of the universe will meet us where we are but won’t leave us there. God plans to purify our souls and shape us to become like God. Our part is simple but not easy; we must first throw away the whipping stick, which we have used to beat up ourselves for not being perfect. Next, we must surrender our souls over to God and embrace the design for living that only God can design. From there, we lock arms with God and enjoy the journey, one day at a time.
Lord, thank You for creating me. Please give me the willingness to throw away the whipping stick once and for all. Grant me the ability to see my life the way you see my life. To accept your love, grace, and mercy, despite my feelings of unworthiness. In Your Spirit and Name, I pray these things. May Your will not ours always materialize, now and forever, Amen.
