Trouble is Certain for People of Faith – Acts 4:1-5:11
January 21, 2024
Welcome to our Jesus-centered community. We are glad you are listening to today’s message.
Our purpose statement is “We are People Helping People Experience a Jesus-centered Life.”
This six-week series examines the remarkable spread of the gospel and the kingdom of God from Jerusalem, to Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the world. Jesus has commissioned every one of his followers to be his witness by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Despite challenges from outside and within, the kingdom of God continues to advance. Today, we continue to be his witnesses and have a vital role in the continuing story of Jesus’s unstoppable kingdom. We are in week three of our New Year message series titled “Unstoppable.” Today we unpack Acts 4:1-5:11, and how the unstoppable movement of the disciples and Holy Spirit keeps rolling.
Resisting the devil and overcoming temptation is not just about saying no but also saying yes to the life God desires for us to live. The following video referenced during the sermon helps illustrates this point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi4UnOmu_kw.
Before you listen to the message, you are encouraged to go to our website and download the lesson bulletin for this message, dated January 21, 2024. Today we start a two-part series titled “Sympathy For The Devil?” We unpack 1 John 3:1-10 (The Message) in today’s message. The subject of Satan, the Devil, demons, Lower Power, Darkside, the Enemy, Lucifer, Evil, and Spiritual Warfare are highly confusing, hard to understand, and often misconstrued. In this new messages series, we will tackle these subjects and uncover, discover, and discard any twisted perceptions about “The Devil.”
