When you read the bible like a narrative instead of as a history book or a literal account of ancient history, you will discover the Gospel of the Kingdom. The bible is truly a love story. It’s God’s story, and the best news about God’s story is that everyone is invited to be apart of God’s story. In Matthew 9:35, Jesus went about to all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
All sixty-six books of the bible instruct us to put God first in every aspect of our lives. This spiritual principle includes our money, time, talents, relationships, possessions, jobs, and fun. Our Proverb’s reading states that the honor of God is at stake in our daily lives. We are to honor God with the first fruits of our labor (our best stuff) first and foremost. If we do, we will be blessed and live the best life possible on this side of heaven. What a fantastic promise, but it’s easy not to do if we believe in the power of scarcity over the power of the God of abundance.

- Have you ever prayed to God to judge you by your integrity?
- Do you believe Jesus can meet your needs the way he did the two blind men in our gospel reading from today?
Prayer
Lord, grant me the ability to grow in understanding and efficiency with the gospel of the kingdom. I wish nothing more than to blossom into a faithful kingdom servant. I desire more than anything else to be committed to my kingdom community and help as many people as possible to find and follow You. In Your Spirit and Name, Amen.
