Place Your Life Before God

Welcome to today’s message. Our message today is from Romans 12:1-21, and titled “Place Your Life Before God.” Pastor Harold unpacks Romans 12:1-21, which is one of the Bible’s most quoted chapters. The two main points the entire message is built on is our lives being a living sacrifice by the renewal of our mind and practical application, where we live our sacrificed by practicing Love and Service in all of our affairs. Pastor Harold uses ten points to bring home this message that will hopefully bless all listeners. 

The Heart of the Problem

Welcome to the latest message from Hill-Tran Ministries. Today Pastor Harold unpacks Matthew 15:1-20 as we continue in our summer lectionary services. The title to today’s message is “The Heart of the Problem.” Today we learn what Jesus was trying to teach the disciples and all those listening, including us today, and that is “the heart of the problem is a problem with the heart. We discover what the bible means by heart, and how we can receive an all-important heart transplant, which is necessary if we want to have victory over the power of sin in our life. 

Keep Your Eyes On The Light

Thank you for joining us for this week’s message titled “Keep Your Focus On The Light.” In today’s message, Pastor Harold unpacks Matthew 14:22-33, and we focus on the story of how Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, and once he did, his faith quickly dissipated, and he began to drown. What areas of your life have you taken your eyes off of God and have chosen to go it alone? You quickly find yourself ate up with fear, anxiety, anger, and depression, don’t you? Pastor Harold uses the acrostic “KEEP” to help us discover and learn the importance of keeping our eyes on the light. He also points out the many promises that come our way when we choose to live the kingdom life.

Heaven Appointed Counselor

Welcome to today’s message titled “Heaven Appointed Counselor.” In today’s message, Pastor Harold Long unpacks Romans 8:26-39. The message starts with an illustration introducing the listeners to Brian Stevenson, an attorney from Montgomery, Alabama. Brian’s career is stellar, which is validated by the recent motion picture “Just Mercy.” The story of Brian’s life and career, providing legal counsel to many people falsely accused over the last 30 years, is mindblowing. Next, Pastor Harold uses ten bullet points to unpack our scripture reading to help our listeners understand the passage, and even more important, how to apply the teaching to our lives.

Weed Pulling Angels

Welcome to this week’s message, “Weed Pulling Angels.” We are currently in our summer message series titled “Summer 2020 Lectionary Series.” Today Pastor Harold unpacks Matthew 13:24-43, which includes The Parable of the Weeds, The Parable of the Unleavened Bread, and the Parable of the Weeds. We will discover what these three parables have to teach us about the Kingdom of God, and what we need to learn as kingdom people living in the 21st century.

A Special Kind of Freedom

Today’s message for Sunday, July 5, 2020, is titled “A Special Kind of Freedom.” In our message today, Pastor Harold unpacks Matthew 11:16-19; 25-30 and helps us understand the difference between the “world system” versus “The Kingdom of God.” The principalities and powers of this world influence our lives to the point of delusion, where we believe we are in full control of our lives. Human beings tend to reject God because they wish to play God themselves and rule their own lives. This lust and quest to do what we want, how we want, and when we want, has been in existence since “the fall of humankind” in the Garden of Eden. If we are honest with ourselves, when we look back at our lives as individuals, as America and the world, we see where we made decisions based on self, which later put us in a position to be hurt. To become genuinely free can only happen when we put our will in line with God.

Obedience, Freedom, and Truth

Thank you for tuning in for Pastor Harold’s first message as the new Senior and Teaching Pastor for both Hillsboro UMC and Transformation UMC. This recording is from the first service at Hillsboro UMC. In today’s message, Pastor Harold unpacks Romans 6:12-23 and teaches about us the 5 BIG Delusions of Sin. As Kindom people, if we learn to be obedient to God’s commands, align our will in line with God’s will, and trust the process, we will enjoy a new freedom and happiness that we never knew was possible.
