“It’s frustrating at times when you think you’ve earned a chance to play on the field and you’re over there sitting on the bench. That’s not the kind of player I am. I’m the kind of player who wants to be out there on the field and needs to contribute every minute of every game.” ~ Freddy Adu
Living life as a trusted servant is an opportunity to engage the kingdom calling for our lives, and realizing it’s God who is behind the results; our part is to put forth the effort. There is no second or third-string in the realm of the Spirit, only those who do and those who don’t. Lord, help me get over the idea that I am not worthy enough to be used by You to help others rediscover life.
There are three types of people in the kingdom:
- Those who make it happen.
- Those who watch it happen.
- Those who don’t know what’s happening at all.
To fully enter the world of the Spirit, we have to understand that God uses the most broken of the broken to accomplish His work, regardless of how limited we may be in our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state. God will accomplish amazing things in and through us if we show up and are willing and ready to get into the game called life. Entering the game as a giver instead of a taker is what matters most. Lord, grant me the willingness to get into the game ready to serve. You have already called my number and my name; I just need to get up off the bench and run on to the field. The field is ripe and ready to harvest.
