As NOMADS, Donna and I meet some incredible followers of Jesus Christ in our travels. None more so than Pastor Emerson Villegas of St. John UMC in Rio Grande City, TX who hosted our NOMAD team in January of this year. We were notified today that he passed away from COVID-19. Our hearts are broken with this news. He was a healthy, vibrant leader of his church and worked so hard to reach out and help those that were struggling in the surrounding community. He utilized his NOMAD teams to to work with those in need in the neighborhood, despite the repair needs at his church and parsonage. Please lift up his family in your prayers and please don't let your guard down in how you protect yourselves regarding this virus. We are ALL tired of dealing with it, but it still exists and can have deadly consequences. Thank you, Marty and Donna
