“A chain is no stronger than its weakest link, and life is, after all, a chain.” ~ William James
The weakest link in a chain is the strongest because it can break it. ~ Stanislaw Jerzy Lec
We are all a link in the chain of life; we are either a weak link or a strong link. Our lives are made up of many compartments. Most of us have jobs, families, neighbors, communities in which we live, and numerous responsibilities. In all of these areas of our lives, we are a link. Upon personal inventory, if thorough and honest, we will discover that our link’s strength varies per the different categories of our lives, e.g., we may be a strong link at work but a rather weak link at home. Lord, help me search my life and discover which links in my character and responsibilities are impaired and need Your intervention and healing.
“Weak links negatively impact our ability to properly serve our community as “superior servants” ~ Chief Marc Bashoor
This quote comes from the Public Safety Director in Highlands County, Fl. When you think about this statement related to the world we live in, it reveals a great responsibility each of us has in the big scheme of things. What kind of link have you been to the world as a whole over the last 12 months concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, political divide, and social unrest? Have you been an asset or a liability? Have you put people at risk? Have you been a pot-stirrer? What should you have done instead? What can you do, leading into 2021, that will make you a stronger link in the chain of life and make the world a better place for everyone? My Creator, You know me better than anyone. Help me see my life the way You see it. Please grant me the strength to confess these short-comings with another human being, and search out the necessary people and resources to help bring about this change.
