During the holidays we make room for a lot of things. We make room for Christmas parties, putting up the tree, buying presents, and sending out Christmas cards, but is there room in our hearts for God to write His story? What we focus on most is where our heart is positioned. Lord, You know my heart; remove from me the individualism and consumerism that can evade and erode my heart so that I can make plenty of room for You and Your desires for my life this Christmas season.
Artist Matt Maher and John Mark Hall, from Casting Crowns, wrote the beautiful lyrics to the song “Make Room.” Part of the chorus to their song is, “Is there room in your heart for God to write His story?” 2020 has been tainted by COVID-19, political divide, and social unrest. These are the headlines that occupy the hearts of many. The question, “Is there room in your heart for God to write His story” is urgent, serious, and necessary for us all to reflect on and act upon during this COVID Christmas season. Father God, I want Your story to become my story. Please remove all the unnecessary agendas and things that take up massive space in my heart, so You have plenty of room to write your story on my heart. In return, I will share my story, which is your story, with everyone I meet and greet to help advance the kingdom here on earth.
