“Fame is temporary; make it long-term by putting smiles on people’s hearts and helping others by expecting nothing in return. Be famous and unforgettable for your Unconditional Love.” ~ Arsi Nami
I recently signed up to donate my body to science, and once they viewed the photos, they demanded a return on their investment. I don’t care who you are; that’s funny right there.
It seems children and seniors are the best at giving without expecting anything in return. The children are too little to be corrupted by individualism, and seniors have lived long enough to gain this wisdom. For everyone else in between, it requires sacrifice and a commitment to live along spiritual lines. Giving without expecting anything in return is difficult because we always get something in return; we get blessed. So, is it possible to give without getting anything in return, “no?” But is it possible to give without expecting anything in return, “yes?” We can’t avoid the blessing, but we can learn to give without expectation.
Who will you bless today, expecting nothing in return?
Lord, You call on everyone to quit being takers and become givers. We know this is only possible with Your Spirit dwelling inside our soul. Please take up residence in our hearts and help us adopt your “no return policy” for our lives. In Your Spirit and Name, we pray these things. May Your will and not ours be done, now and forever. Amen.
