Fear Of The Unknown
We all fear what we cannot see, and so it goes with COVID-19. If you have ever been lost in the woods after dark, without a light, you fear possibly falling in a hole, stepping off a ledge, tripping over a log; you fear possibly being attacked or somehow getting hurt. When you face something you can’t see, it’s like being lost in the woods after dark without a light. People who have impaired vision often rely on someone else to lead them, a service dog to guide them, or utilize a cane to help detect the obstacles that stand in their way and know which way to turn.
As spiritual people living the kingdom life, we have an eternal light called the Holy Spirit. We have mentors or sponsors to help hold us accountable and provide wise counsel. And we have each other. When we put our lights together, we can discover the right path to take. It doesn’t mean the way forward is without the risk or that you won’t be a victim of the dark, but if you apply what you have learned, you will be safer and make better decisions. Lord, help light my path. I was hoping you could grant me the wisdom, courage, and strength I need to apply what I have been taught in this time of uncertainty and darkness. Your way, not mine, be done.
