We cannot make disciples unless we are disciples ourselves. ~ Oswald Chambers
After Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead, He stopped visiting the usual settings. Yet, Mary Magdalen and the other Mary went to see Jesus, where they expected to find Jesus lying in the tomb. They were not looking for the resurrected Jesus; they were looking for a dead Jesus. This dead Jesus was all they could comprehend with their natural minds. We should not look for Jesus with our puny little minds because we won’t acknowledge Jesus as our savior. To experience Jesus, who takes away the world’s sin and promises to restore the kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, we must look to the supernatural for the miraculous. Despite all the teachings from Jesus around his death and resurrection, his followers didn’t understand nor truly believed it was possible. Not until He appeared to them forty more times before ascending into heaven. As kingdom people, we must look to the supernatural to experience the risen Christ and witness His miraculous wonders. Common sense does not serve us well when seeking Jesus; we must find Jesus in the uncommon sense.

Prayer¹
Lord, the sacrifice of your Son, is a precious gift. I don’t deserve it, and I could never have earned it. Thank you for your grace and mercy and love to give it to me anyway. You gave up everything for me, even though you were pure and righteous, and I am full of sin. Thank you for breaking the chains that kept me in bondage to sin. Thank you for the freedom I now have in you. I want to follow your example as your disciple. Please help me also to give up everything and take up my cross. I don’t want to live in slavery to my flesh; I want to embrace the freedom that you paid for with your blood. I want to pursue my relationship with you fervently, with no attachment to the things of this world, not material things, family, jobs, money, or even my life. Please help me to take up my cross daily. In Your Spirit and Name, I pray these things. May Your will and not mine be done now and forever. Amen.
