“The average person is a conformist, accepting miseries and disasters with the stoicism of a cow standing in the rain.” ~ Colin Wilson
Without rain, creation perishes. Yet, when stuck in the rain, especially a cold rain, coupled with high winds, and lighting it’s scary, and we can’t wait for it to be over. The storms of life are inevitable; there is no way to escape birth, aging, illness, and death. Everyone we love will experience the storms of life. The Bible reminds us that the rain falls on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45 CEB). We must learn to accept that rain is necessary and one of the critical ingredients of creation and the circle of life. The good news is we no longer have to stand alone in the rain; God invites us to come in out of the rain and find comfort under God’s umbrella.
Why are you choosing to stand in the rain?
God is inviting you to come in out of the rain, so please come in.
My Creator, thank You for the rain; without it, life is not possible. Dark days and storms are not to be avoided but embraced. I know You desire nothing more than to provide comfort and security during these unpredictable and stormy times. Please remove the pride and fear hindering my ability to come in out of the rain, and find comfort and safety in Your arms. In Your Spirit and Name, I pray these things. May Your will not mine always materialize, now and forever. Amen.
